Syndol headache relief tablets are for the short-term treatment of acute moderate pain which is not relieved by paracetamol, ibuprofen, or aspirin alone.

Suitable for migraine, headaches, rheumatic pain, period pain, toothache, and neuralgia.

What are the active ingredients in Syndol Headache Relief Tablets and what do they do to help?

• Codeine and Paracetamol are pain relief medications that can work together to ease pain.

• Paracetamol can also be used to reduce fever and high temperatures.

• Caffeine helps to make paracetamol more effective.

Warnings and Precautions

Not suitable for anyone 12 years of age

Do not drive or use heavy machinery if you suffer from drowsiness, wait until these symptoms clear

Do not use if: 

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients these tablets contain

• You have acute asthma, severe respiratory disease

• You suffer from alcoholism

• You have had recentGallstone surgery

• You suffer from paralytic ileus, where your bowel has ceased to function

• You have recently had a head injury or raised pressure in the skull

• You are breastfeeding

• You have been told by your GP that you are a CYP2D6 ultra metaboliser 

• You are under 18 years old and have had your tonsils or adenoids removed

Speak to your GP or Pharmacist before use if:

• You suffer from kidney or liver problems

• You have an enlarged prostate gland

• You suffer from low blood pressure

• You suffer from inflammatory or obstructive bowel disorders

• You have an underactive thyroid gland

• You are elderly or debilitated

• You are pregnant or planning to have a baby

Active ingredients:  Caffeine, Codeine, Paracetamol

How do I take  Syndol Headache Relief Tablets?

Dosage:

Over 12 years: TWO tablets with water every 4 hours.

No more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.

Not to be used for more than 3 days continuously without medical review.

Under 12 years: not to be given.

What are the side effects of  Syndol Headache Relief Tablets?

Possible side effects:

• Constipation, stomach cramps, feeling sick, and vomiting

• Dizziness, lightheadedness, disorientation, drowsiness, headache, tremor, nervousness, confusion, irritability, restlessness, anxiety, mood changes, vertigo

• Difficulty passing water, needing to pass urine more often, passing less urine than usual

• Dry mouth

• Your eye’s pupil may become smaller

• Blurred or double vision

• Nightmares
