It has both anaesthetic and antiseptic properties to help numb throat pain and fight bacterial infections.
What is the active ingredient in Strepsils Extra Triple Action Blackcurrant Lozenges and what does it do?
The active ingredient in Strepsils triple action is Hexylresorcinol. Hexylresorcinol fights discomfort associated with sore throats in three ways.
- Lubricates the throat to soothe the irritated and scratchy sensation caused by sore throats.
- Contains a mild anti-bacterial effect that helps to kill bacteria that can cause sore throats.
- Acts as a local anaesthetic to soothe the pain.
Warnings and Precautions
Not suitable for anyone under 6 years of age
Do not use this product if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients these lozenges contain
- You have an intolerance to certain sugars such as fructose, glucose-galactose and sucrose-isomaltose.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Speak to your GP or Pharmacist if:
- You are taking any other medication
- You suffer or are suffering from other throat problems.
