What is Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream?

Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream 15g treats sweat rash and athlete's foot associated with fungi and bacteria where inflammation is present.

With triple action treatment, Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream is:

1. Antibacterial

2. Antifungal

3. Anti-inflammatory

What causes Athlete's Foot?

Athlete's foot is caused by fungi that thrive in warm and moist environments; such as:

• Changing rooms

• Showers

• Public pools

Walking barefoot in these places can put you at greater risk. Athlete’s foot usually occurs between your toes, but it can also affect the soles and sides of your feet.

What symptoms should I look out for if I have athlete's foot:

• Burning or itchy feet and toes

• Scaly, very dry, cracked or peeling feet

• A scaly, red foot rash

• Softening of the skin between your toes

• Whitening of the skin between your toes

• Cracked skin between your toes (may bleed)

• Smelly feet

What causes Sweatrash and what are the symptoms?

Sweat rash is a sore, itchy red rash found in areas where the skin rubs together.

How will Daktacort HC help?

The two active ingredients this cream contains are hydrocortisone acetate and miconazole nitrate. These work together to relieve swelling and destroy the fungi itself. Regular application of this product can help to provide gentle relief from painful inflammation and itchiness.

Warnings and Precautions

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Do not use:

• On a child under 10 years of age. (Speak to your GP for advice and treatment).

• If you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients or if you have any other skin problems such as cold sores, acne, herpes, chicken pox or shingles.

• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients this cream contains

• On broken skin

• If irritation occurs

Speak to your GP or pharmacist before use if:

• You are taking oral anticoagulants (drugs used to thin the blood) 

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Miconazole Nitrate 20 mg, Hydrocortisone Acetate equivalent to 10 mg of hydrocortisone.
 

Other ingredients: Macrogol 6-32 Stearate, Glycol Stearate, Oleoyl Macrogolglycerides, Liquid Paraffin, Butylhydroxyanisole, Benzoic Acid, Disoddium Edetate, Sodium Hydroxide, Purified Water.

How do I use Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream?

Directions:

Adults and children over 10 years: Apply a small amount of cream to the affected areas TWICE daily.

Wash the affected area and dry before application 

• DO NOT use for longer than 7 days.

• NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 10 years

What are the side effects of Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream?

Possible side effects:

• Skin irritation.

• Burning sensation.

• Itchy skin or a rash.

• Blurred vision.

• Inflammation or lighter patches of skin.
