What is AproDerm Ointment?
 

AproDerm Ointment is a specially formulated emollient ointment. It intensely moisturising, protects, and soothes skin that is affected by moderate to severe eczema, psoriasis, and other very dry skin conditions.

AproDerm Ointment works to form a barrier layer on the skin that keeps moisture in, whilst keeping infections and irritants out. It provides relief for dry, red, inflamed, damaged, and raw areas of skin.

AproDerm Ointment can also be used as a pre-bathing emollient to prevent the skin from drying out further. It is also great for overnight use and for hand eczema, as it is completely free from sensitizers and irritants.

• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is unlikely to have any ill effects when the product is used as directed but you may wish to speak to your GP first.

• This emollient contains paraffin and can be easily ignited with a naked flame. If the product comes into contact with dressings and clothes they can be more easily ignited with a naked flame. Keep away from fire when using these types of emollients.

• If you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients you should not use this product.

• Should not be applied to infected areas of skin.

• Avoid contact with the eyes.

Active Ingredients: White Soft Paraffin 95%, Liquid Paraffin 5%.

How do I use AproDerm Ointment?

Directions:

To apply, use a clean spoon to scoop out the required amount, this avoids contamination of the ointment.

Apply regularly, liberally, and frequently to the affected area, using gentle, downward strokes, following the direction of hair growth.

Rubbing should be avoided as this can cause further irritation and itching (by generating heat) and can also cause folliculitis (as a result of blocking the hair follicles and causing inflammation).

What are the side effects of AproDerm Ointment?

Burning, stinging, redness, or irritation may occur.
