How does Levothyroxine work as a treatment for an Underactive Thyroid?

 

Levothyroxine works by replacing thyroxine if your thyroid gland cannot produce it. This will help prevents the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

 

What is an Underactive Thyroid

 

An underactive thyroid occurs when the thyroid gland fails to produce sufficient thyroid hormones to meet the body's needs. These hormones play a crucial role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and various bodily functions.
